The Swan Valley Stampeders snapped a 3 game losing as they won their 7th game of the season on Wednesday night defeating the Waywayseecappo Wolverines 5-2.

The visiting Wolverines would get off to a quick start Preston Seymour would jam home his 1st MJHL goal on the PP to give them a 1-0 lead. The Stamps would respond a short time later with a powerplay goal of their own as Jaden Townsend would be Johnny on the spot to knock home his 6th of the season to tie it up at 1-1. Just under 8 minutes later that Swan man-advantage would strike again as Keaton Jameson would hammer home his 5th of the year to give Swan a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes.

The score would stay the same until 15:29 of the 2nd period as Mack McPhee chipped in his 5th of the season to even it back out at 2-2. But just 1:27 later, Noah Basarab (pictured above) would get the eventual game winner on the powerplay, his 6th to make it 3-2. The Gimli MB product would grab his 2nd of the period for the Stamps as his long shot would go in off a Wolverine defender and into the back of the net to give the home-side a 2 goal lead at 4-2 after 2 periods.

In the 3rd period there would be only one goal and it would be the first MJHL goal for 16 year old Parker Johnson as the Elkhorn MB product would take a nice head-man pass from newcomer Taylor Derynck and go five-hole on Curtis Stewart to add some insurance in the final frame.

Swan River's own and Stamps goaltender Quinn Munro made 25 saves to earn his 1st MJHL victory while Wayway net minder Curtis Stewart made 33 saves in the loss.

The Stamps' next game will be next Wed. Nov 22nd when they visit the Neepawa Natives while the Wolverines are back on the ice on Friday night when they host the Winnipeg Blues at the Wayway Arena Complex
